I've been enjoying spring, how about you?

Yes, it is very nice to be able to go bicycling in the evenings after school, now that the hours of daylight have shifted a bit later. I will be running in the Pi mile run at the U of M today. Usually I run a lot in the two weeks or so prior to it, but this year, I've just wanted to go biking. I've already put on 61.7 miles on my two bikes this year. Considering how busy I've been with school lately, that's not bad. SO, my cardiovascular system should at least be in good shape, even if my running-specific muscles will be crying for mercy during the run. The Pi mile run course is on pretty hilly terrain, but I'm not worried about doing really well. For me, the first race of the year is more about enjoying a nice run with my fellow IT students while soaking up the spring scenery. What have you been doing to enjoy the spring weather?

Spring Is Here

I brought my camera to the U of M yesterday for a project, but ended up not needing to use it for that. During my lunch break, I spotted a seagull just standing in the reflecting pool alongside the McNamara Alumni Center. It was a photogenic bird which stood for all the photos I cared to take, and even posed for me a bit. This one had the best composition out of the set, and I modified it a bunch in Photoshop to bring out the colors a bit, and create an interesting image.

What can you find in the pavement cracks?

Annie Lennox says "The love don't show up in the pavement cracks". I think you can find love anywhere you look. Here I was able to see a beautiful sunset by looking down at the street. By seeing this, I remembered how much I love Minnesota, my life, and my ability to see.
